The illfated warship Wasa was the motif of the 225th booklet issued by Swedish Post. The ship sunk on its maiden voyage after about 1.3 km (!) in August 1628. What a bummer. That tragedy turn in to become one of Stockholm's biggest tourist attractions. In 1961 the ship was salvaged and reconstructed, put in a museum and it is still there.
The booklet was issued the same day as slot-machine booklet The Tjörn Bridges. The denomination was 55 öre for all six stamps.
